The candidate (m/f/d) will join the European R&D Center as department director for Battery Design Department, who will be responsible for system engineering, BMS development and pack design and development.  The Candidate will work closely on cell design and development topics and require to build reliable communication with Technical Center in SVOLT HQ and other key stakeholders in Europe and HQ for new product development.  

Your mission
  • Responsible for planning the core competitiveness of NEV power battery products and technical roadmap 
  • Responsible for the prospective research and discussion of lithium batteries. Lead the R&D team to fulfill the R&D requirements of power batteries for electric vehicles.
  • Responsible for the battery pack and sub-component development in Europe. Responsible for all subsystems of battery pack like cells, thermal design, structure design, electrical design, and BMS.
  • Communicate regularly with EU customers, collect and sort out the development direction of advanced battery pack technology. Identify gaps from platform to customer requirements and propose solutions to fill such gaps.  
  • Responsible for the formulation of battery specifications, including the selection of cell, other sub-components and BMS.
  • Responsible for battery system safety design. Improve energy density and safety and reduce weight.
  • Participate in the review and confirmation of key milestones in the development process of power battery system technical solutions.
  • Responsible for tracking, verification and improvement of major technical problems or quality problems in the development process.  
Your profile
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering. Major in Electrical, Electronics, or electrochemistry/material is preferred;
  • More than 12 years of lithium-ion battery related R&D experience while more than 3 years of R&D director or vice president experience. Working experience in world well-known lithium battery company is preferred;
  • Have a deep understanding of the technical status and direction of lithium-ion battery industry.
  • Have a comprehensive perspective of LFP material system, NCM/NCA material system, Prismatic cell manufacturing process, etc.
  • Keen insight into market requirements and turn into requirements for battery systems for future product planning.
  • Familiar with the vehicle development process and TS16949 system.
  • Excellent skills in communication and coordination, organization and coordination, and planning and execution.
  • Other requirements. Team building ability, case design ability, planning ability, demand analysis ability, global concept, customer awareness, cost awareness, risk prevention awareness, etc.
  • Language Proficiency - English as Business Language. German and/or Chinese are considered as an additional advantage
